Career and Service Centers of Southwest Florida

There are five Career and Service Centers of Southwest Florida to assist businesses and job seekers by connecting employment, education, and training services in an integrated network of resources. Centers are the focal point of the workforce investment system, supporting the business and employment needs of job seekers and the human resource needs of businesses. The Center continually strives to realign and improve its system to meet the changing needs of business by assisting with the recruitment, training and retention of skilled workers.

Businesses/Employers receive assistance in connecting to and recruiting veterans. The Centers offer a wealth of resources including specialized Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVERs) and Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) staff who work solely with veteran population and can provide relevant veteran applicant referrals. Veteran Job Seekers receive assistance from specialized Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVERs) and Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) staff who work solely with veteran population and provide coaching, mentoring, and practical guidance throughout the job search process.

LVER and DVOP staff members are considered part of the one-stop career center team and promote all one-stop services, especially services in the employer marketing arena, i.e. employer visits, job fairs, etc. Veterans’ Program services are fully integrated into the one-stop system and this integration benefits veterans.

Job Seekers may utilize all services available at the Career and Service Centers of Southwest Florida which may include our Partner Agencies, i.e. Vocational Rehabilitation, Agency for Workforce Innovation, Department of Children and Families, and many more!

In addition, the Veterans' Program includes:

Transition Assistance Program (TAP) , which provides employability skills training and other benefits information to military members and their spouses in their transition from military to civilian society.

Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) , an employment and training program facilitated by DVOP staff to assist disabled veterans who are being trained - retrained and rehabilitated for new careers by the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs.
